Causes of Hemroids
You should understand why hemroids occur. If you do not understand why hemroids has occurred to you, and why especially you, you will not be able to develop a both effective and permanent hemroids cure plan.
By knowing the causes which have led to your hemroids and correcting them, you can reverse the cycle of hemroids pathogenesis. This way, you will not only be able to cure hemroids permanently, but also avoid their recurrence in the future.
On the other hand, trying to treat hemroids without taking into consideration their causes, may provide you with temporary control of the symptoms, but the condition persists and even worsens as long as the causes are present.
In addition, detection of the cause will help you choose the best treatment option for your case.
Predisposing factors
- Genetic predisposition: some individuals are born with genetic weakness of the anorectal veins, which remain healthy until they are exposed to a precipitating factor such as excessive straining when hemroids then develop.
- Age: hemroids are more common in older people due to loss of tissue elasticity.
- Obesity: hemroids are more common in obese individuals.
- Dietary factors: low-fiber diet, insufficient water, and vitamin E deficiency. These factors lead to hemroids by causing constipation. Also, excessive caffeine and alcohol consumption lead to development of hemroids by causing body water depletion.
- Causes of excessive straining as constipation and diarrhea.
- Unhealthy toilet habits. These include holding stools, reading papers in the toilet, and excessive straining in the toilet. The modern toilet design is related to the increased incidence of hemroids in developed countries because it is less physiological with the process of defecation and causes retention of stools in our bodies. Squatting is more physiological because it allows for more emptying of the rectum with less straining.
- Pregnancy is associated with increased risk of hemroids due to hormonal changes leading to weakness of the venous walls. Also, straining during delivery worsens the hemroids.
- Liver disease and portal hypertension causing increased pressure in the portal circulation leading to opening of various portosystemic anastomoses, including anorectal veins.
- Developed countries: hemroids are more common in developed advanced countries due to a combination of the above factors related to dietary habits and lifestyle.
Pathogenesis of hemroids
Hemroids are a painful swelling of the anorectal veins caused by 1) weakness of their walls and 2) excessive pressure in their lumen.
The weakness of vein walls may be inherited and may be related to hormones as in pregnancy, while excessive pressure is produced by straining as in (1) constipation, (2) carrying heavy objects, (3) wiping the anus, and (4) anal sex.
From the etiological point of view, it appears that hemroids are the end result of many factors that are responsible for either weakness of the vein walls or excessive pressure on them, or both. Hence, surgical removal of hemroids does not cure the hemroids as long as the causative factors are present. For this reason, it is always said that hemroids are very liable to recurrence after removal.
So, how can treatment can be directed towards the cause in order to provide a permanent cure for hemroids? Let’s see some examples
Dietary modifications to treat and prevent constipation.
Simple dietary modifications are required, namely eating high-fiber foods and drinking plenty of water. Avoid highly refined foods such as sugars and white flours.
Toilet retraining.
Avoid holding stools, avoid reading papers in the toilet, and avoid excessive straining. use a modified toilet sitting position; although we can not change our toilet design, there is a way that we can make sitting on present toilets more physiological. Sit on toilet as normal, then press on tip-toes and front of the foot, and press by your elbows against your knees. This position is more similar to the physiological squatting position as it allows for emptying the rectum minimal straining. This helps cure from hemroids and prevent their recurrence or appearance of new ones.
Summary
In order to cure hemroids naturally and permanently, you need to develop a complete natural system dealing with all the causes that can be avoided and including dietary changes, behavioral changes, natural remedies, especial exercises, etc. The aim is to reverse the process of pathogenesis of hemroids which is enough to completely cure hemroids and avoid their recurrence.
An important thing to know is to start as early as you can. Although all cases can be cured naturally whatever their severity, the earlier you start, the easier the reversal process will be.
I know a complete system that allows complete cure of hemroids in about 48 hours using completely natural methods without using any medications, this system is called Hemorrhoid Miracle, you can try it here.
